No Hard Feelings Between Charles Phillips Oracle Ex-President and the Giant IT Company
There appears to be no hard feelings between Charles Phillips Oracle Former President and the company when the new Infor CEO was interviewed. In fact, the well-known IT and financial expert went as far as saying that he had discussed his move to Infor with his ex-boss, Oracle CEO Lawrence “Larry” J. Ellison, and Phillips said that the latter was quite happy to produce another CEO for the world of IT. Considering how Ellison had also hired his friend, Mark Hurd, to be the new President of his company, this may well be true. Hurd, himself, was an object of slight controversy when he and Hewlett Packard parted ways. Hurd was the former CEO of the company.
Without Charles Phillips Oracle Ex-Presdent, it would no doubt appear to many that Infor was poised to be one of the most valuable acquisitions for other IT giants like, yes, Oracle and SAP. Now that it has a new CEO, and one whose prowess in closing mergers and acquisitions is legendary, Infor being gobbled up by a bigger fish is less likely to happen.
What is more possible is for the privately-owned company to finally go public and get additional funds in order to increase its efforts in M&A. This is not to say, however, that Infor is financially lacking. The opposite is true, in fact, considering that it enjoys a whopping $2B for annual revenues and has over seventy thousand loyal customers dependent on its products. The company had also recently released its newest applications for enterprises.
