There Are Many Good Reasons To Have A Credit Card
Most of the reasons to get and exercise a credit card have nothing to do with spending newly accessed money or gathering rewards. At least not your first card. At first acquisition, the credit card is an instrument of freedom. Within your issued credit line, you now have a freedom equal to that new limit. You can now finance the handling of a minor crisis, assemble our own A team, buy plane tickets on the fly and not have to pass up the opportunity of a lifetime (within your credit limit) once you get a credit card.
What it actually does is to establish you. And by that you need to use it. Make minor purchases with credit cards that you would normally make with cash, and then pay them before the billing cycle is over and miss the finance charges. You will add a notch in your creditworthiness belt each time you make, pay for and complete a transaction before you hit the finance charge wall. You’ll be scoring points.
When people say they have an AA credit rating its not that they have a unique or above the average rating with the creditor. AA means “as arranged” and in the credit world that’s the best you can do. Once you have a collection of these good marks you are well on your way to establishing yourself in the credit world, You’ll need more work to be sure, but you’ve taken the first step.
